I'm Dave Matthews, and I'm running as a Republican candidate for Parker County Clerk.

My campaign is built on three enduring principles: Faith, Family, and Service.

Faith

My faith is the foundation of everything I do.  I believe that my work should reflect my values and ultimately honor God through responsible stewardship.  Whether in my professional responsibilities or in my personal relationships, I strive to live out the command to love God and love my neighbors - especially the citizens of Parker County.

Family

Family is the cornerstone of my life.  My wife and our six children are my greatest blessings and my daily motivation to constantly strive to be a better man.  They inspire me to work hard, serve with integrity, and help build a community where future generations of Parker County residents can thrive.

Service

I've spent my life serving - first in uniform, then in federal government, and now at the county level.  Each chapter of my life and career has prepared me to serve Parker County with dedication and experience:

• US Army Veteran: I proudly served five years on active duty in Military Intelligence as a Spanish linguist and Airborne Paratrooper, followed by three years in the Texas National Guard.  During my time in the National Guard, I pursued and earned a Bachelor's in Economics and International Business and a Master's in Business Administration, both with a 4.0 GPA from Sam Houston State University.
• Federal Government: For 21 years, I served as a fully warranted Contracting Officer with the General Services Administration (GSA), managing high performing acquisition teams with wide responsibility over a portfolio of contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars.  My work supported critical infrastructure projects for the U.S. Courts and Land Ports of Entry along the Texas and New Mexico border region, as well as complex IT and professional cybersecurity projects in support of the U.S. Army and Air Force.
• County Experience: Most recently, I've served in a county clerk's office, where I oversee the filing, indexing and public accessibility of land records such as deeds, liens, affidavits, and plats.

I've proudly called Parker County home for the past 12 years, and I'm ready to bring my experience, values and leadership to the role of County Clerk.  As our county continues to grow, I'm committed to ensuring the highest level of stewardship over your public records and delivering the best possible customer service to every citizen who interacts with the County Clerk's office.
